SCRAPS, PAINT, THREAD, AND BEADS

Equipment Required
• Sewing Machine and sewing machine needles
• Multi-Plug Extension Cord
Tools Required
• sharpee pen and pencil
• hand sewing needles (for hand embroidery, applique (milliners), and betweens)
• rotary cutter, mat, cutting ruler
• embroidery hoop, quilting hoop
• tracing paper
Optional tools:
• hemostat, paint brushes, (I will bring some for the class to use) fray check
Materials:
• Fabrics: scraps, quarter and half yard cuts of cotton, novelty, sheer, velveteen, hand dyed, whatever you want to work with, but 100% cotton works best for the hand reverse applique, try to bring a variety of values (light and dark) and a variety of size of imagery and texture;
• thread for the machine
• beads, buttons, embroidery thread
• acrylic paint (if you have some at home)
Things I will supply: large drawing paper to create composition, acrylic paint and brushes, trade out fabric selections
You can bring slides or photographs of your work for show and tell in the class.
